Mayra Nieto
Director of Speech and Assistive Technology Services
Mayra specializes in working with both pediatric and adult clients, with a deep focus on literacy, communication access, and AAC evaluations. She integrates assistive technology to help clients find their voice and thrive in school, work, and daily life. Mayra loves yoga, hiking, and is passionate about empowering others through communication.
Vanessa Cox
Assistive Technology Specialist
Vanessa is passionate about AAC and leads with a neurodiverse-affirming lens. She brings creativity and care to every session and believes that everyone can learn when given the right tools and support. Vanessa's work embodies our core belief in inclusion and presuming competence.

Lisa Sandoval
Executive Clinical Director and Co-Owner
Lisa co-leads our AV office with warmth and clinical expertise. As both co-owner of DTS and office director, she brings innovative evidence-based practices to life while supporting a dynamic team of SLPs and SLPAs. Her leadership focuses on transforming how we approach literacy and communication challenges across the lifespan.
Elizabeth Benz
Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
Elizabeth partners with Lisa to lead our AV office with clinical insight and deep community roots. She specializes in building strong connections between families, schools, and therapy teams. Her mentorship approach develops therapists who deliver compassionate, effective care while maintaining our high standards of clinical excellence.
Bakersfield Office
Ami Kennedy
Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
Ami is our lead SLP in Bakersfield, known for her compassionate, client-centered care. She helps children build confidence in their communication skills while supporting families every step of the way. Ami loves dogs and finds joy in helping kids express themselves and connect with the world.
Clinical Excellence
Our full therapy team includes passionate professionals trained in AT, AAC, multisensory reading and writing programs, as well as voice and neuro specialties. Through our Clinical Fellowship program, we're proud to mentor three emerging clinicians who share our commitment to transformative therapy.
Our dedicated SLPA team receives continuous weekly training and is fully aligned with our mission:
